“Yeah, yeah,” I say to both myself and her as I walk to the back of my vehicle. The damage isn’t much. There’s a dent in the rear bumper and a few marks in the paint, but other than that, no real harm has been done.

“Let’s go.” I get back in my seat and start up the car. We are on our way back home in no time.

Her

As I walk to my car, away from the woman I’d just finally met in person, I am filled with conflicting emotions. Part of me wants to stay and make sure she’s okay, but the other part wants to get as far away from her as possible. I just want to get this damn job done. Her attitude is shockingly fierce, and it’s a huge turn-on. It compliments mine, and that’s hard to do. She’s a match wanting to be set aflame so she can burn.

Her greyish eyes are devastatingly ethereal and perceptive. I feel like she could see into my damn soul with that first look of rage she gave me. Poor girl won’t like what she sees if she looks too deep.

Nova's hair is as black as a raven, and her body is as delicate as rose petals. She definitely isn't what I expected. The way she bossed me around made my cock so hard that I had to tuck myself into the waistband of my pants that were suddenly tighter around my hips. I want to bend her over my knee and spank her before shoving myself into her as hard as possible. I know that I will have to use my hand to pleasure myself until she gives in to me. The picture The Boss gave me doesn't do her any justice, let alone look anything like she does now.

Running into her was the perfect excuse to get her attention. Plus, it’s possibly the oldest trick in the book. Now, all I have to do is wait a day or two, apologize profusely, and then meet up with her in a public area to gain her trust. Once all of that is done, I can tell The Boss I’m in.

Trying to think of something other than the target, I pull my attention to my ‘bikkja.’

I pull up to the sadly eclectic brick building and honk my horn. Marcus comes out seconds later. I have been training him well.

“Marcus! It’s taken you less time to find your puny cock and piss than to come out of this building. What took you so fucking long?”

“Bro. It was like ten seconds. I've been waiting all day for you to show back up. I didn’t even take off my shoes.”

“Huh, it sounds to me almost as if you were complaining about how long meetings take,” I tell him while shutting the door to my car. “My Bitch needs a polish, and that sounds like the best comeuppance since you want to complain about your menial job of waiting around all day.”

“It wasn’t menial…” Marcus spits.

I put my hand up to his face, silencing him from talking. He does because, again, I am the one who trained him, and I train well. I’m not doing this because I want to. I don't feel like I need an apprentice. The Boss, however, feels I could benefit from someone else to do the technical shit. Marcus's job is to do all the initial info searching on the targets. Once he logs into the cameras, he watches all the feeds and keeps me updated.

"Just do what you're told, or I'll tell The Boss, and you will be headed straight to the morgue."

"Yes, Loki." He’s now staring at his feet, embarrassed and upset.

It’s Just Coffee

I’ve just exited my house to get the mail when I almost run straight into Aleksandr.

"Sorry 'bout yesterday, I was in a hurry." He sounds unsure of himself.

"No worries. How did you find me here?” I ask.

“I mean, it’s pretty easy. I’ll go into details one of these days. It’s not hard to find a damsel in distress. Can you meet up later?” He smiles down at me.

“I'm not a damsel in distress, but I can meet up whenever. What about you? When are you available?" I ask him.

"Three o'clock today at the tree beside the gates of Three Norns Hill. You know which one I'm talking about?"

"Um, yeah, I know the one. I haven't been there in a while, but that's fine. I'll meet you at the coffee cart." I sigh, knowing that Tyr will have a hard time letting me go alone. He has been slightly overprotective lately. I’m hoping that it’s because he’s feeling truly remorseful about having hurt me. He swore no one else would lay hands on me– he’s obsessed with keeping me safe.

"Um, alright, see you then." He looks at me curiously but nods before he turns and walks away.

I tell myself it’s just coffee and that I can do this. I have to learn to be independent again and not need someone to babysit me whenever I go out. I need to get out of my head and not believe everything my mind makes up sometimes. This will be my first time going somewhere by myself since the island. Aimee, my mom, or Tyr are always with me. Walking off the sidewalk and back into our house, I hear Tyr’s voice.

"Who was that, babe?" He comes around the corner from the hallway and into the front room. I have just sat down on the couch with my legs tucked beneath me, fidgeting with the remote for the TV.

“Oh, um, that was Aims. She followed me home. She wants to meet up for coffee later.” I speak softly and keep my head down.

“Hmph, okay. Tell Aimee I said hello. Have fun, I guess,” Tyr replies, swiveling on his heels to head towards the kitchen.

I instantly feel guilty. I have no idea why I lied to him. I’m not normally one to lie and deceive, but I don't want another triggering moment for him. I’m not normal. My brain isn’t firing on all cylinders.
