I don’t have time to process much of anything. My body’s still floating with euphoria when he stands and frees his cock. There’s the crinkle of foil and a few seconds later, he’s pushing inside of me.

“How’s that feel, pretty girl?”

“So. Fucking. Good.”

He pounds into me harder and I can’t speak, to encourage him or otherwise.

“Get back here.” He grips my shoulders tight, so I can’t escape his punishing thrusts.

“Harder.”

He squints at me. Pure sexy mischief. “Think you can take it?”

“Yes,” I practically pant out the word.

He grants my request and thumps into me so hard my head knocks into the wall. He growls and braces his hand behind my head. “Hook your legs around me.”

A few minutes of furious thrusting and panting and he roars, squeezing his eyes shut and jerking inside of me.

“Fuck, you’re gonna kill me,” he rasps.

“You better not have ruined my stockings. I only brought the one pair.”

He shakes with laughter and kisses my forehead. “Nice touch. As you can tell, I approve.” God, he’s not even out of breath while I’m still panting. Apparently, he’s keeping up with his workouts. I trace my fingers over his abs. Explains why he’s so ripped.

“You’re a sexy beast.”

He laughs. “Thanks.”

I groan as I set my legs down. My knees are so wobbly, I don’t think I can stand on my own.

Eventually, we leave the room. Yet another party rages throughout the clubhouse. Even though our room is pretty far from the main area, music and loud voices can be heard as soon as we step into the hallway.

“Tonight will be different,” he says.

“How so?”

“More ol’ ladies will be here. Ones who came with brothers from our other charters.”

“And fewer bunnies?”

“No, they’ll still be around.” He glances over. “You’ll be fine.”

Until last night, I never considered that Z might be some sort of celebrity within his organization...or rather royalty, but he’s vice president of his club and that already commanded respect beyond his small upstate clubhouse.

And now he’s the temporary president of this clubhouse. There’s no way to ignore his status tonight.

He’s dressed in simple black jeans, black boots, and a black T, but it’s the black leather cut with the Lost Kings MC patches, specifically the brand-new President patch, that draws the attention of every female in the room. Z doesn’t seem to notice. Or else he’s so accustomed to the attention, it no longer makes an impression.

Oddly, it seems to help me find myself and my place. As the woman at his side. Something I never thought I’d find happiness in, but I do. He seems to only have eyes for me and to tune everyone else out.

At the bar, we stop and he keeps his hand on my waist, familiar and proprietary. Explaining to everyone in the room, I’m his and his alone.

Serena’s behind the bar again tonight and beams when she sees us. “Congratulations, Z.”

“Thanks, hon. You remember Lilly, right?”

“I do.” She nods. “We talked last night a bit.”

“We did. And she makes a killer Downstate Royale.”

“I’m glad you liked it.”

Z asks for a beer and I ask for the same as last night. I feel like I’m betraying Heidi a little by talking to Serena, but the poor girl hasn’t done anything to me. She wasn’t rude to Heidi last night and she barely even looked at Murphy, so what’s the harm?

My phone buzzes and I pull it out of my pocket—yes, this dress has pockets, another reason I love it so much.

Hope: How’s it going?

Me: So far so good. How’s Chance?

Hope: Misses you, but good.

She sends a picture of him next and I lean over to show Z.

“Fuck, I really miss him.” He taps the side of his beer bottle a few times. “Murphy and Teller are supposed to take the girls to go look at a house tomorrow.”

“Down here?”

“Yeah, a rental so they can come stay down here and visit on the weekends or whenever.”

“Wow, big commitment. I thought this situation wouldn’t last long.” My gaze strays to the freshly-sewn President patch on his cut. “For them, I take it you’ll be staying longer?”

“Would you consider staying down here if I find a place you’re comfortable with?”

“Yes,” I answer without even thinking about it.

He blows out a breath and nods. “Cool. I’ve looked at a few places online but haven’t set up anything yet.”

“You’ve been looking for a house?”

“Staying here is getting old. Things have evened out so I’d like some damn space.”

“Well, it’s not like I have a job at the moment. My parents don’t seem to need my help as much as they claimed they did, so it’s perfect timing.”

“I was hoping you missed me.” His mouth quirks but I don’t think he was making a joke.

I brush up against him. “I do miss you. A lot. I haven’t said it because I’ve been trying to be supportive, but I miss you, Z. So much.”

He crushes his lips against mine, turning us so my back’s up against the bar.

“Easy, Prez,” a deep voice rumbles behind us.

Someone clamps down on Z’s shoulder and he turns to glare at the intruder.

“What’s up, Blink?”

“Priest wants a word.” He turns and runs his gaze up and down my body, much too long for my taste. “This your girl?”

“This is my ol’ lady, yes,” Z answers, a lot less friendly. “Lilly, this is our national enforcer, Blink.”

“Thank you for supporting your man during this transition time, Lilly. Hopefully we see more of you.”

“Thanks.”

“She’s moving down here with my son,” Z says, curling his arm around my waist.

“That’s good. Congratulations, brother.” He jerks his head toward the office I saw Z in and out of a few times today.

“I’ll be right back. The girls should be around here somewhere soon.”

“I’m fine. I’ll send a text and see where they are.”

I send a quick text to both Charlotte and Heidi, but Z’s already on his way back by the time I’m done.

That was fast.

Several girls, a heck of a lot younger than me, zero in on him like scantily-clad wolves working together to take down a prized moose.

Without Heidi and Charlotte to entertain me, I’m stuck watching the scene in front of me.

Z’s always been a ladies’ man. I know this. It’s actually something I love about him. I couldn’t like or respect any man who felt he needed to prove his commitment to me by treating other women badly. Even an ex-hookup.

More girls swarm around him. At first, I’m amused.

Then, the boldest, a tall, skinny dark-haired beauty puts her hand on his cut. He gently removes it, but now the other ones think they can touch him too. Biceps, shoulder, forearm. Bold bunny number one runs her fingers down his abs

I’m not amused any longer.

In fact, my patience is about to snap.

I’ve never been with a man that stirred up so much rage in me because a couple women were flirting with him.

Tonight isn’t about me and I won’t do anything to embarrass him.

I take a sip of my drink, but it sloshes around in my stomach like acid. I guess if I’m going to be his ol’ lady, I need to get used to this. Although, it wouldn’t hurt for him to be a little more like Rock or Wrath and scare them away.

“What are you doing, Lilly?” Serena asks.

“Nothing.”

She follows my gaze. “Go stake your claim, girl. Don’t let them get away with that.”

“Isn’t that his job?”

“Z’s new down here. They need to know his woman won’t take any shit.”

Her words are the ve

rbal slap on the ass I need. I only have tonight and some of tomorrow left to spend with Z. I’ll be dammed if I’m going to waste them.

I slide off the stool and toss my hair back before making my way to the center of the room. “Excuse me,” I say to bold bunny number one. “I need a word with my man.”

Z grins at me, and reaches out, capturing my hand and pulling me to him. Is that what he was waiting for? Me to meet him halfway?

I lean up and press my lips to his ear. “Should I pee on your leg? Or will they take the hint now?”

“I’m not into that but whatever gets you off, pretty girl.”
