“Good. I’ll have Graham tell Garrett. I’ll pick you up when I leave the office, and we’ll meet them at the festival grounds.”

Caleb comes running up to us, carrying both his and Annabelle’s overflowing baskets. “We’re done,” he says.

Taeli jumps to her feet. “Do you need some help?”

He nods, and she takes one of the baskets from his grip.

“We’ll go put these in the car and be right back,” Taeli says.

Annabelle prances over and flops into a seat beside her mother.

“Why is Caleb carrying your apples?” Jena asks her.

She shrugs. “They were too heavy,” she says.

“They have apple carts you could have used,” Jena points out.

Annabelle sighs loudly. “That’s what boyfriends do—they carry bags and pay for stuff,” she says, exasperated.

Erin bursts out laughing. “I wonder where she heard that.”

Jena just shakes her head and stands. “Come on. You and I are going to go buy Caleb a dumpling with ice cream as a thank-you.”

“Can we get him a heart cookie too?” Annabelle asks as she takes her mother’s hand.

“No,” Jena replies.

Once we are alone, Erin leans in. “Are you okay? Really?”

I smile. “I’m better now. I guess I just needed to talk it out with you guys.”

She grins. “Now, how was it?”

I debate on ignoring the question but decide to share instead. “It was mind-blowing. He’s not the same boy he was back then. Don’t get me wrong; he was good then, but now, he rocked my world. Effortlessly. Granted, I hadn’t had a non-self-induced orgasm in a very long time, but I’ve never ever had multiple ones in one night.”

She groans. “I knew it. The way he plays the guitar. His fingers on those strings. Mmm,” she says.

At that moment, the two ladies from inside walk past us on their way to the parking lot. Once they are a few steps away, the quiet one of the two turns around and winks at us.

“Right on,” Erin says.
