Luna rolled her eyes and slipped into the room. She closed the door behind her and smiled wide. “I’m not going anywhere. If I’m not in here, you guys are going to try to pin Macy to some guy when she was into girls.” Luna reached for the picture King had tossed on the table. “She was so pretty. She shouldn’t be remembered by what this animal did to her.”

Ransom grabbed her wrist before she could snatch up the photo. “This has nothing to do with you, Luna,” he growled.

“You wanna take your hands off of me before I headbutt your face into next year?” she hissed. “And if that doesn’t work, I can plant my foot in your ass if that’s something you are into,” she snapped.

Ransom leaned toward her. “So ladylike.”

Luna curled her lip. “Because you’re such a gentleman, right?”

“How about you both back up five feet and chill the fuck out, yeah?” I called. I totally understood Ransom’s disdain for Luna—she was my sister, after all—but he needed to lay off being such a dick. She was my sister after all.

“Your brother to the rescue, huh?” Ransom sneered.

Luna stuck her middle finger in his face. “Jealous? Missing the brotherhood that should have been yours but you messed it up?”

Whoa. That was a low blow. Luna always tended to tiptoe right over the line.

“Enough,” King bellowed. “You two need to work out whatever pissed-off shit you have going on when you are not in church.”

“I thought only members were allowed in church?” Ransom asked. He sat back in his chair and folded his arms over his chest.

“And I thought losers who couldn’t make the cut for the club weren’t allowed in church?” Luna shot back.

Another low blow.

Ransom growled and curled his lip.

“Both of you knock it the fuck off,” Rigid called. “You two need to fuck or kill each other already.”

“Moving on!” I called. I did not want to think about Luna fucking anyone. Especially Ransom.

“Macy is gay,” Zag called. “That was what we were talking about.”

I pointed to Zag. I owed him for trying to get us back on track and away from who Luna was messing with. “Right. She liked the taco.”

King glared at me and Zag busted out with laughter.

I shrugged. “Sorry.” Sometimes hanging out with Zig and Zag too much rubbed off on me and I said shit I should just keep in my head.

Zag smothered his laugh with the back of his hand and cleared his throat. “Proceed,” he called.

King turned his glare on Zag. “Thanks for the permission.”

Yeah, I had pissed off King, and Zag pushed him over the edge.

“So, we can rule out the possibility that the killer is going after girls who have been with certain guys.” King sat back and tapped his fingers on the table. “What else could be tying these murders together?”

“Maybe it’s a prospect who couldn’t make the cut and is now getting revenge on the club?” Luna glared at Ransom. “You would know how that feels, right?”

Ransom shook his head and clenched his teeth.

King’s eyes shot to Luna. “Low blow, Luna. Knock it off, or your ass is on a plane for Alaska until we get this figured out.” King should have threatened that five minutes ago as soon as Luna walked into the room.

“As if,” she snapped. “You can’t do that to me.”

From where I sat, King could do whatever the hell he wanted to. Especially since Luna had stepped into church where King actually was king.

King turned his head toward Luna. “You wanna try me? Your daddy isn’t going to disagree with me, either. Troy would be glad to know you aren’t anywhere near Rockton with this killer on the loose. You’re connected to the club, too, Luna. You might be the next person on this psycho’s list.”
