She throws her hands up in the air, a burst of irritation sparking from her eyes as she looks at me across her office. “What do you want me to say, Ethan? You’re so damn hot and cold. I don’t know what to think anymore. I’ve never dealt with a man like you. I have no idea what you’re thinking, what your motives are. I don’t know if…”

She doesn’t get the opportunity to say anything else because I march across her office to where she’s standing, weave my hands through her hair on the back of her head, and pull her into me, crushing my mouth to hers.

A small shriek leaves her lips before I’m smashing her to my chest, holding her head in place as I devour her mouth. Our tongues collide, her hands clench my waist and grip my jacket, drawing me closer to her, and the sounds of our pleasure echo in the room as I kiss the woman with every ounce of desire I possess.

Backing her up, I press her into the wall behind her desk, hitting a mirror hanging behind her but not stopping for one second to consider it falling. Thrusting my erection into her stomach, I hold nothing back, showing her what she’s doing to me, what she’s been doing to me since the first moment I met her.

I’m kissing Amelia, tangling my tongue against hers, nipping at her lips, and tasting her finally—and it’s better than I ever imagined.

Our hands grip and grab for any part of one another, trying to get as close as possible while every nerve ending in my body lights up. Her soft curves press against me, spurring me on and making me consider how I ever thought I could resist her—and how I sure as fuck can’t resist her now that I’ve tasted her lips.

“Fuck, Amelia,” I mumble against her mouth, diving back into the kiss before she has a chance to answer.

But her hand on my chest, pushing me away from her, is the beginning of her reply. With wide eyes and one of her hands covering her mouth, she remains on the wall as I stand across from her with my chest heaving, trying to catch my breath.

“Ethan…” She pauses as we both breathe heavily. “Why did you do that?”

“Because that is the way you deserve to be kissed, Amelia.”

“What are you talking about?” she asks breathlessly.

“I saw Brayden kiss you Friday night,” I admit.

“What? How?”

“I had to come back to my office to pick something up, and I saw him drop you off.” She remains shocked and still as I continue. “I could read your body language across the courtyard. He didn’t make your knees buckle, he didn’t have your chest heaving for air like it is now, and he sure as hell didn’t make your pupils dilate like they are right now after my lips were just on you.”

“You couldn’t see my eyes that night. How do you know they weren’t dilated?”

“Because that look in your eyes? That look is reserved for me. It’s borderline wanting to knee me in the balls and borderline wanting to yank on my hair while my mouth is between your legs. Does that sound about right?”

“No.”

“Liar.”

Our ragged breaths continue to fill the room. “This isn’t a good idea…”

“I think we both know that’s the truth, but I’ve never been one to steer clear of things that I want just because it wasn’t a good idea.”

“You want me?”

“I think that kiss just now makes that pretty obvious.”

The chime above the door rings again, breaking our moment as we both jump and pretend as if nothing was just happening. Obviously, we fail at that miserably.

I correct my coat and take a step back. “I look forward to talking more about this later,” I declare, shooting her a look that lets her know I mean business before spinning around and plastering a smile on my face to greet her clients. “Good morning.”

“Good morning,” the woman of the couple replies, sliding out of my way so I can squeeze by her and her husband. And with one more glance at Amelia over my shoulder, I leave, adjusting my junk as I walk across the courtyard to my office, wondering what the hell I just started.

But the truth is, I couldn’t regret that kiss even if I tried.
