“That’s okay…”

“The answer is no, Oliver,” he declares in a tone similar to the one he used with me in my office yesterday. And as soon as the words leave his lips, he flicks his eyes up to me, and I swear, he’s thinking the same thing. My body comes alive again, heating up from the inside out. Now all I feel is need and regret that we couldn’t meet up earlier.

We both remain in a stare down until Oliver breaks the silence.

“What is the girl gnome’s name?” Oliver asks, pulling me from my more than obvious perusal of my nemesis turned fuck buddy.

Shaking off my embarrassment, I look back at Oliver. “What?”

“The girl gnome. Does she have a name? I think the boy should be Grumpy, like my dad.”

“Thanks, Oliver.” Ethan rolls his eyes.

Oliver’s determination and teasing have the corner of my mouth lifting up in a smile again. “Okay. But no, she doesn’t have a name.”

“Can I name her too?”

“Sure. What do you think would be a good name?”

He runs back over to the gnomes as I feel Ethan’s eyes on me. And sure enough, as I glance over my shoulder, I catch him checking out my legs—my very exposed legs under my dress. Realizing he was caught, he clears his throat and then moves after his son. “Oliver, we should leave Amelia alone. I’m sure she’s busy, and you’re in trouble, young man.”

“She looks like you,” Oliver says, disregarding Ethan’s words. “Her name should be Sunshine since her hair is yellow like the sun.”

“You think so?”

He nods. “Yes.” Holding up Ironman against the female gnome, he smiles. “Iron Man thinks Sunshine is her name too.”

“Well, who am I to object to Iron Man’s wishes? Sunshine it is.”

Ethan’s phone ringing pulls our attention back to him. As he pulls his phone from his pocket and glances at the screen, he hisses in frustration. “Shit. I have to answer this. Come on, Oliver. It’s time to go.”

“Okay, Daddy.” Oliver runs back to Ethan but looks back at me momentarily.

“It was nice to talk to you, Oliver.”

“Let me know if the gnomes come to life, Amelia.”

I chuckle. “I will.”

Oliver runs back into Ethan’s office as Ethan answers the call. “Ethan Fuller,” he says into the phone as he walks away from me. “Yes, I have the contract ready to sign.” But before he gets too far, he turns around, places his hand over the end of the phone, and speaks to me. “I’ll be by your office tomorrow at noon sharp. Be ready for me.” And with a wink, he continues on his way, leaving me trembling and even hotter, now in desperate need of that gelato to cool me down.

“Oh, God, Ethan. Yes! Right there…” I stare down at Ethan’s head buried between my legs as his fingers work in tandem with his tongue.

My God, does the man know his way around my pussy.

“Don’t come until I tell you.”

“But I’m close. God, please…”

“Don’t fucking come, Amelia. I’m not done with you yet.” He removes his fingers from me and then sucks my clit between his lips hard, pulling my entire body closer to him as I sit with my legs spread open on my desk.

Ethan came over just before noon as he promised and didn’t give me a chance to greet him with words before his lips were on mine. We started on the couch making out like teenagers before he brought me back over to my desk and began feasting on me.

And boy, do I ever feel like his meal right about now.

He slides three of his fingers back inside of me, the stretch so exquisite and just the thing I needed to bring me right back to the edge again.

“Ethan…”

“Come for me now, Amelia.” It takes a few more seconds of his fingers and tongue working together to make me explode, but I do, gripping his hair in my hand as I scream through my release. I sincerely hope someone isn’t walking by right now wondering if I’m being murdered in here, or a client is being beaten or something. That wouldn’t be good for my practice if someone called the cops and I had to explain the noise.

Luckily, Ethan must have been thinking the same thing because he reaches up to cover my mouth with his free hand.

“Jesus, woman.” He wipes his mouth on his forearm as he stands and stares down at me, splayed across the surface of my desk, trying to gain my composure.

“It’s unfair how good you are at that.”

His smirk makes an appearance. “Glad you can appreciate my talents.”

“Oh, I definitely do.” Pushing myself up from my desk, I prepare to return the favor just as my phone rings.

Ethan’s eyes dart to the screen at the same time mine do, where we see Brayden’s name flash across it. He’s probably returning my call from earlier, the one where I was going to cancel our next date and tell him I couldn’t see him anymore, but I can’t very well do that this second.

My pulse spikes as I wonder what to do, but Ethan’s change in demeanor tells me it’s too late to do anything. The damage has been done.

“You should get that.” Ethan turns away from me, headed toward the door.

I flick my head back and forth between the phone and him, nervously moving toward Ethan as he stands by the door with his back to me, fixing the sleeves of his shirt. “Ethan…”

“Are you still seeing him?” he says, spinning around to face me, his face scrunched up, displaying his frustration.

“Well, no…

“Well, no? That doesn’t sound very convincing, Amelia. I believe you were the one that asked if we were exclusive in this arrangement, but apparently, Brayden didn’t factor into this.”

Now my anger is starting to build. “What are you implying, Ethan?”

He shakes his head, staring down at the floor. “Fuck.”

“What’s going on?”

“Nothing. Look, I need to go.”

“Ethan…”

He snaps his eyes back to mine. “End it. This doesn’t continue until that’s over.” And then he walks out, leaving me standing there with my heart racing and my pulse spiking with fury.

Fuck. Well, that went sour quickly.
