I slammed into the water and tumbled.

Water rushed in my mouth. Up my nose.

Swirled in my ears as I lurched end over end.

Which way was up?

I tried to kick with my legs, to get some control of my tumbling limbs. For a moment, I hung suspended in the darkness, water bubbles still swirling all around me, salt stinging my tongue and nose and eyes. I fought to keep them open anyway.

And saw that one area was lighter than the rest of the darkness. I swam towards it, transferring my momentum. My lungs burned and it registered that I’d been stupid, stupid—screaming had been stupid, I should have been breathing before I hit the damn water because what I wouldn’t do now for a damn breath. Or even half a breath. I’d give a million bucks for even an extra hitch of air in my lungs as I swam harder towards the light.

Arms grabbed my shoulders and hauled me to the surface right when I thought I wouldn’t make it.

I sucked in a huge, life-giving breath. And then another and another. Tears squeezed out of my eyes. And then I started laughing. I had a twin on either side of me and Milo swimming right in front of us, holding my hips.

I laughed and threw my head back, “Whooooooop!” I screamed. I let out another feral whoop and then looked to Leander.

“Fuck me.” I gripped his neck. “I feel the adrenaline j-j-j-just like you s-s-s-s-said!”

“Are you fucking kidding?” Leander said, sounding half hysterical, “We thought you were dead. We broke the surface and you weren’t there. Hope, you weren’t fucking there.”

He clung to me, the boyish smile gone as he swam towards a sand bank below the cliff. Janus seemed on board with this plan because they were both swimming the same. Same strokes. Identical movements. We moved faster than I would’ve imagined through the water and then I was being hauled up on the beach.

My body had been through so many sensations and emotions in the last minute and a half, I could hardly tell up from down.

“You guys!” I slapped their shoulders. “That was amazing! Can we go again?”

“No!” both twins yelled in unison, then looked each other in the eye as they each yanked off the soaked shirts they’re wearing.

Which I decided was swoon-worthy so I lay back on the sand as the sun set on our side of the cliff, casting warmth on us and light on my men.

“Enough with this little adventure,” Janus growled. “It’s time to get her somewhere warm.”

“I know how you could make me warm,” I said with a smile, fire still lighting my blood as I caressed a finger down Janus’s arm.

He glared at me, or tried to, and then he shook his head. “That’s it. Brat’s gotta learn her lesson. I’ve counted so many infractions tonight, I’ve run out of fingers. Ignoring me and jumping off that goddamned cliff—”

“Leander was taking me with him!” I protested.

“Talking back.” Leander said, helping Janus get me to my feet.

“Why?” I whined, holding out a hand towards the sunlight. “Why do we have to leave the sunshine?”

“Because, honey,” Janus whispered, “look behind you.”

“What?” I said, finally looking further back on the beach. I’d been so discombobulated when they first dragged me up on the beach, I hadn’t exactly paused to take in the landscaping.

It turned out it wasn’t just a shallow little area. The beach led to shallow caves beneath the cliffs. And far back in one of the caves a fire had already been lit by someone. Wow, Milo really had outdone himself setting all this up for us—chairs, robes, and blankets.

I felt giddy at the surprise. They’d surprised me this time. My heart went squishy.

“We could have just driven her down here,” Janus muttered to Leander.

“I know.” Leander said, shortly. “We’ll talk later.”

They’d talk later? So they did talk about me when I wasn’t there? That wasn’t fair. They didn’t talk to me about each other. I wanted in.

“Here,” Milo hurried ahead and pulled a fluffy robe off a pile, holding it out for me.

“Strip her,” Leander ordered.

“Duh,” Janus said.

And then I was being stripped by my two sexy daddies. I went limp, only holding myself up enough to stand. It felt amazing to give into their caring, firm hands as they peeled my cold, wet shirt up over my tummy, then over my breasts. Janus’s rough fingertips skimmed over my nipples, turning them into hard, pebbled points.

It felt so good to let them fuss and undress me. To feel a pair of hands on each of my legs as they peeled off my jeans. Down went the jeans. Firm hands steadied me as I stepped out of the wet jeans. It was hard to get through the sticky, wet hole at the bottom, but they helped me finally get free of the damn things.
