“It’s not a problem,” she said. “Just tell him.”

Archer sighed, “I have to go to France for my company,” he grumbled.

Jon chuckled, “I’m not sure why the hell you sound so upset about that. I’m actually kind of jealous,” Jon admitted.

“He’s going to be gone for at least a month, possibly longer,” Gracie filled in. “And he hasn’t told his boss about us yet.”

“That’s fair because I haven’t told mine about us either. But a whole month is a damn long time, babe,” Jon said.

“I know and I leave the day after tomorrow. My boss is going with me, so I probably won’t be able to get back home.”

“Well, I think we can hold down the fort while you’re gone,” Jon promised.

“You shouldn’t have to,” Archer said. “I should be here and not an ocean away from you both.”

“I’m sure that we’ll find a way to stay connected, Arch,” Gracie promised. “We can facetime.”

“I know, it just won’t be the same,” he griped. “But I have no choice.”

“You’re going to have so much fun over there, you won’t even miss us,” Jon teased. Archer doubted that, but he loved the way that they were both making him feel better about having to go on this trip. He thought that he’d be the one consoling them, not the other way around.

“Thank you two,” he said.

“This is what family does,” Jon said. “And we’re family now, babe.”
