“Trust me, sweetheart. It’s going to be filled with more surprises and romance than you can even imagine,” I teased.

She looked up at me and said, “I told you, I don’t need to be surprised or romanced. I have everything I need when I’m with you.

“I know, but I just finished reading another one of Carlie’s books and…”

“Don’t tell me, you want to reenact one of the scenes,” she laughed.

“Heck no! Our sex life is way better than those. But it made me think about what it would be like to scoop you away, blindfolded,” I smirked.

“Blindfolded? What the heck is your sister writing now?” Valentina asked.

“She’s not. That’s all me. So, are you going to pack?” I asked, knowing damn well she was more than interested now.

“From the sounds of it, I think I will be able to pack very light,” she smiled. “Like maybe just my toothbrush.”

I leaned over and tried to sneak a kiss without disturbing the twins. “I love the way you think, sweetheart.”

“Good, because I have a few anniversary surprises of my own. I hope you weren’t joking about the blindfold, because it might just come in handy.”

Damn. “Maybe we can do a practice run before our vacation?” I teased.

The twins started to fuss, and I knew this conversation would need to be continued later. I might need to do a little more shopping before our trip, because this anniversary was about to make up for all the ones we’d missed.

She said no surprises, no romance. But she never said no toys.

The End
