“You have no idea,” she breathed.

“What?” he asked, not sure that he had heard what she said.

“My name is really Rainbow Meadows, but I shortened it to Rain.”

“Wow,” he breathed, “that is different but in a good way.”

“If you say so. But having to grow up with that name has been a challenge, to say the least.” He knew just how mean kids could be and having to deal with a different name would make her stand out.

“Yeah, kids can be assholes,” he said. “I mean, wait until you meet my nieces and nephews.”

She giggled, “You don’t like kids?” she asked.

“It’s not that I don’t like kids, I just don’t like the ones who are related to me, wanting to make my life miserable.”

“They like to gang up on Dustin. He’s the youngest brother in our family and well, the kids think that he’s one of them,” Darrin said.

“But I’m a grown man,” Dustin insisted. “And I’m sick of sitting at the kid's table at family dinners.”

Rain laughed again, “You sit at the kid's table for family dinner?” she asked. “How old are you?”

“I’m twenty-six years old, but I’m also the youngest of five brothers and that garners me a seat at the kid’s table,” Dustin grumbled. “It’s time for me to move to the adult table, but I think my mother’s punishing me for being a bachelor.”

“So, no kids or wife then?” Rain asked.

“Nope,” Dustin said. “How about you?” he asked. “Do you have a family waiting for you back at home?”

“Not unless you count two parents who are very disappointed about my life choices,” she said.

“I don’t think that’s true,” Dustin insisted. “I mean, look at you, what could they possibly be disappointed about?”

“Oh, you’d be surprised,” she said. “I guess they never saw me becoming a photographer, but I love it, so there’s that.”

“Well, loving what you do is important. My brothers love to give me shit about being an accountant, but I love my job too, so it doesn’t matter to me what they say.”

“Right,” she agreed. “Plus, I get to photograph this wedding in France, so that should have really shut my parents up, but it didn’t. I’ve already decided to enjoy myself while I’m here. I mean, when will I get the chance to come to France again?”

“So, this trip isn’t all about work for you then?” he asked, suddenly coming up with a damn good plan to give him a chance with her.

“Nope,” she said. “I plan on having a whole lot of fun while I’m here too.”

“Great,” he said, “then how about being my date for the wedding?”

She giggled, “Um, I have to take photographs, remember? It’s kind of what I’m getting paid to do here.”

“Right, but you just said that you were going to have some fun while you were working. I just thought you’d find a way to do both,” he admitted.

“Well, my motto is, ‘When there’s a will, there’s a way,’ so I’d love to be your date as long as you’re okay with me working while I’m on our date.”

“That works for me,” he agreed. “And I’m fine with you having to work on our date as long as you save me a dance or two.”

“Deal,” she agreed, holding her hand out to him. He took hers into his own and shook it. He wasn’t sure how he was going to get through his brother’s wedding without a date and now, he had an evening to look forward to with the sexiest wedding photographer that he’d ever met. Things were finally looking up for Dustin and he had a feeling that he was going to like France.
