I stare out the window, trying to process the call. How does that happen? She was young when she had him, only eighteen, but she was with Declan the whole time she was pregnant. That's how I remember it, anyway.

Brandon walks back into our room, breaking me from my trance. "What's wrong, who was on the phone?"

"Amelia. She's at the hospital with Connor."

"Is he okay?"

"He’s broken a bone, nothing too serious, but there’s something else… She always thought Connor was Declan's, her ex-husband, but she just found out he can't be."
