“You have your guesses recorded, mouth?”

Charlie looked up at Pete as his older brother sauntered over to their table.

“I do.” Charlie waved his hand at the printed whiskey notes Pete and Vianne passed out at every tasting. “What do you mean, mouth?”

“You’re over here with that motor mouth eatin’ up the highway while I’m talking.”

“Hey.” Charlie frowned and held his hands up in defense. “This is serious business. I’m locking down my date for Roman and Aria’s wedding.”

Pete narrowed his eyes at Tatum. “You sure you wanna go with him?”

“Well, she’s not goin’ with you,” Charlie reminded him.

“Not sure Vianne would approve of that,” Pete answered as he leaned over Tatum’s shoulder to read Charlie’s notes. “Hmm.”

“Hmm? What does that mean? Did I get any right?”

“Maybe.”

Pete wandered away, so Charlie turned his attention back to Tatum. “So. Will you go with me? To the wedding?”

“Yes.”

“Good.”

“Are you in the wedding?”

“No. Mal is,” Charlie told her. “Wear a dress.”

“Yeah?”

“I like your legs.”

She ducked her head as heat rushed her face. Odds were, Sev had heard everything Charlie had said to her tonight.

“Maybe you could wear that ivory silk thong.” Charlie leaned close and spoke the words directly into her ear. She answered with a soft laugh and a nod.

The buzz of her phone sobered her immediately. Funny how Charlie could make her forget Sutton and Bryony for just a moment. That had made her angry at first, that he had the power to do that. Now, it was her saving grace. Charlie had the power to deliver her from the painful stuff in her head and her heart and still be right there to hold her when it all came crashing back at her.

Their eyes locked as she dug into her purse to find her phone. Charlie rested his hand on her shoulder as she pulled her phone from her bag and glanced at the screen. She snorted at the text from Everleigh and glanced down the table to find her friend watching them.

“What?” Charlie looked from Tatum to Everleigh and back to Tatum.

Tatum simply turned her phone so he could see it.

Stop with the mind-fucking down the table. You’re in public.

Everleigh threw her head back and cackled when Charlie shot her a look of surprise. He looked back at the phone as Tatum texted back.

Who knew mind-fucking in public could be such a turn-on?

“Okay. Are we ready to rank?” Pete called. Tatum looked his way when she realized he was back at the front of the room. “Show of hands. Who liked the first pour the best?”

Tatum glanced at Charlie, but he didn’t raise his hand. She peeked at his tasting notes. Oily mouthfeel. No finish. Well, she wasn’t a whiskey drinker, but that didn’t sound very good.

“Second?” Pete asked.

Charlie’s hand went up this time, as did Sev and Mal’s. Tatum glanced at Everleigh curiously.
