I patted Tiny on the arm as the big man held the door open for us. When he spotted Piper, he cocked a brow but didn’t say anything. We all knew Harris had let Lucy in starting when she was seventeen, so as long as Tiny didn’t see Piper drinking, he didn’t have a leg to stand on when it came to letting in anyone underage.

“VIP,” Tiny instructed. “Boss made sure they had a quiet corner so no one would bother them.”

“Perfect. Thanks, Tiny,” Violet gave him a grim smile as we started up the stairs to the second floor.

At the top of the steps, Mila glanced around with a critical eye. “Lyric’s never brought me here. It’s nice, but I prefer Hannigans’.”

“I’m assuming there’s a big difference between LA’s hottest club and a small-town biker bar,” Piper said as she waved at a few people she knew. Mila made a sound in the back of her throat, and I quickly stepped between her and Piper before someone got pushed down the stairs behind us.

“We’re trying to sneak up on the guys,” I complained, grasping her hand. “If you’re being Miss Popular, you’ll give us away. And if Uncle Liam finds out we brought you to a club, he’s never going to let you hang out with us again.”

The little rocker snorted. “I do what I want. And it’s not like this is the first time I’ve been to First Bass. Although I try to be incognito when I do.” Her eyes flickered over my hair and down to the tips of my toes. “You stand out like a neon sign in the middle of a moonless night. I’m not knocking it, because you look smoking hot, Shaw. But if you wanted to surprise Jags and the rest of those asshats, you should have put on a baseball cap or a wig.”

Violet squished her way between Piper and Mila and hugged me. “No one knows we’re here except for Tiny. For now. Let’s get closer and see what the guys are doing.”

Nodding, I kept my arm around her as we walked away from the other two women. The VIP was so busy with celebrities from every branch of the entertainment industry that we blended into the masses. A few of them shot us glances, but from experience, they knew I wasn’t someone to stop and make small talk with. If I wasn’t working, and I was with one of my favorite people, I would rip out a person’s throat if they tried to interrupt my personal time with them.

A few of them had had to learn that the hard way—and it might not have been just the figurative throat ripped from their body experience they may have expected. Truthfully, I had my enemies, but that was because people didn’t know how to mind their own business and leave me the fuck alone while I was having downtime.

It wasn’t hard to find the quiet corner where the guys were seated that Tiny had spoken of. Two members of the club’s security personnel were standing several feet away, keeping anyone from approaching the four men. I paused by a pillar to take a moment to observe them. Four comfortable leather chairs were set up in a square facing one another. An ice chest of what looked like bottles of beer and soft drinks was on a table between them. Jagger leaned forward, his arms on his knees as he laughed at something Lyric was saying.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a group of girls approach, but the security team blocked them before they could get close. The guys didn’t even notice when one of the girls started to get rowdy and tried to push her way past the guy in the T-shirt that read SECURITY across the front.

It took me a moment to recognize who the chick was, but as soon as her name clicked in my head, I quickly grabbed Piper and pushed her and Violet toward the balcony that overlooked the lower level so my best friend didn’t notice the woman.

“I thought we were going to join the guys,” Mila said as she followed. “Not spy on them. I’m not okay with spying on my husband. I trust him, and if he catches me here watching from a distance, he’s going to get pissed.” Her eyes began to glitter. “Although, I’m not sure if I’m against his punishment or not. My ass is still a little pink from the last spanking he gave me, but the tiny sting feels good when he’s…” She broke off when Piper waggled her brows at her.

“Do tell,” Piper encouraged. “I always figured Lyric was a Dom. But I didn’t figure you for the sub type.”

“There’s a difference between enjoying the occasional spanking and being a submissive.”

“I’m very much aware of that,” Piper assured her with a wink. “I like a little Dom/sub play every now and then too. Guess which part I like more.”

“How old are you again?” Mila muttered.

“Old enough to know what I like when it comes to sex,” she said with a shrug.

“I don’t even remember hearing you’ve dated anyone,” Violet commented, glancing out over the crowd below.

Piper sighed heavily. “Dating and I don’t go hand in hand. But sex and dating aren’t synonymous. I don’t have to torture myself with one to get the fulfillment of the other.”

“Lyric mentioned you’re…” Mila trailed off, pressing her lips together to keep from speaking the words her husband had confided in her. Lyric and Piper used to be as close as siblings, so I didn’t doubt the validity of whatever he knew about her.

Piper smirked. “It’s fine, Mila. My sexuality isn’t a secret. I’m pan. That means I don’t see gender. I don’t go around announcing it to everyone, because not everyone matters. But the people who matter the most are well aware of my sexual preferences.”

I was only half listening to them discuss Piper’s sex life, which was weird for me in a way. I considered her a younger cousin and a good friend, but she’d always been a baby in my mind. Even as she’d grown along with Vi and me, I still thought of her as a baby. It didn’t bother me who she was having sex with, but what I couldn’t get over was the fact that she’d been having sex for fuck knew how long.

My gaze went back to the corner and the security team that had thankfully finally dragged the bitch and her posse away. I didn’t need that bullshit, of all things, to blow up the night before my wedding. I had no way of knowing how either Vi or Luca would have reacted if they had seen Megan Hawthorn after so many years had already passed since the bullshit that had gone down with that manipulative slut.

Luca had a restraining order against Megan, as did both of his parents. I wasn’t sure, but I thought Lucy had ended up taking one out against her as well when Megan had become so psychotic following her alleged miscarriage. If those orders of protection were still in place, then Megan technically would have been breaking it by showing up at Harris’s club.

Making a mental note to mention Megan to Emmie the next morning, I nudged Violet with my hip before walking toward the back corner. The two men saw us coming and tensed, but when they recognized me, they relaxed, and one even gave me a cocky grin. With a wink at him, I slipped past them. “They’re with me.” Pausing, I leaned closer to the one who’d had to deal with Megan. “The blonde from a few minutes ago?”

“Escorted off the premises,” he said in a tone just as quiet as my own. “We made sure the gentlemen weren’t disturbed, Miss Cage.”

“Thank you,” I whispered just as Vi smacked my ass and then jumped around me.

“Vi!” Luca cried happily. “Baby, I was just talking about how much I missed you.”
