“I do,” Kai replied.

I wanted to laugh at the question. After all, Timmon was forcing this, but instead, I said, “I do.”

“Do you promise to care for each other for the rest of your lives?”

We each responded in the affirmative.

“Do you pledge yourself to one another, body, mind, and soul?”

Again, we agreed.

“And are you willing to demonstrate your commitment to one another as Agartan tradition dictates?” she asked.

Gasps sounded around the clearing, and Timmon couldn’t suppress his smirk. When we both agreed, Timmon frowned and stepped forward.

“Forgive me, Priestess, but I want to make sure the human understands what she is agreeing to.” The Priestess waved him on. “Tessa, you and Kai will need to…consummate the marriage here and now for all of Agartha to see.” He sounded disgusted just saying it.

“I understand,” I replied.

“She has assented, and provided her partner does as well, then they are free to use the ceremonial blanket placed in the clearing,” the priestess intoned.

As we turned and Kai led me to the blanket strewn over the forest floor, I couldn’t help but feel the eyes of all the people of Agartha on me. Did they really want to see this? I had no idea, but there was no turning back now, not if we wanted the stone.

“Just keep your eyes on me,” Kai whispered against my ear. “If you want me to stop at any point, all you have to do is say so.”

I nodded.

His kiss was tentative. I knew instinctively that he was just as nervous about this as I was, so I reached up and wrapped my arms around him as I had before. When we broke to breathe, I murmured against his lips, "It's just us. No one else."

He hummed his approval and kissed me again, only this time the fire was back behind it and, like a spark in dry grass, my desire caught flame. Mimicking actions we'd taken not so long ago, he picked me up, growling as I came to rest against him before slowly laying us both down on the ground.

The blanket was surprisingly soft under us, and as I lifted my legs once more to wrap them around him, I felt the skirt of the dress slide up, baring my legs and hips to the crowd. It was nothing more than they'd see if I was in a swimsuit, so I tried not to feel embarrassed.

Kai kissed me and pulled back long enough for us to look at each other, with his hair forming a curtain around us. "I do love you, Tessa. I think I always have."

"I love you t—" My words were cut off as he sealed his lips to mine again, ravaging my mouth, claiming every inch of it for himself. I couldn't help but rock against him as he stoked the flames of my need.

One of Kai's hands slipped between us and grazed my skin until he settled at the apex of my thighs, where he found me wet and ready for him. If I was honest, I'd been ready since that kiss earlier in the afternoon. My whole body had thrummed with anticipation and the need for this moment.

His head dropped and rested against my shoulder as he whispered, "Fuck Tessa, I don't know if I can last long enough to make it good for you."

"Then make it up to me later," I replied, nipping at his ear.

That seemed to get his attention because his fingers thrust inside me, making me involuntarily moan at his touch. He was trembling as he worked me, stretching me for him and growling softly in my ear. "Mine."

"Yes, Kai, I'm yours." I panted as he worked me into an aching frenzy.

He kissed a line from my neck where he'd been nuzzling and biting to one of my nipples where he sucked on it through the fabric of the dress and grazed the sensitive bud with his teeth. Each movement was overwhelming through the fabric of the dress, as though it was somehow enhancing things.

"Do you want me?" Kai asked.

"Yes, Kai, please. I need you."

When his cock lined up with my entrance, I looked up at him, holding his gaze as he slowly pushed into me. His girth took my breath away, and I bit my lower lip hard enough to taste blood so I didn't cry out at the sensation.

His teeth grazed my breast, and I knew he was fighting the urge to bite me. "I need you to flip over. I'm sorry."

For a second, I was confused about why he was sorry then I remembered that we had an audience. They'd already seen most of it, and I hadn't even noticed them, so when he pulled out, I eagerly rolled over and presented myself to him, making him growl in earnest.
