“Hello,” he responded. Up close she looked even younger than he’d thought. No more than twenty. Was she a local here to help with the party?

“I’m Calli.” She offered her hand.

“Flynn.” He took hers but dropped it almost immediately. He didn’t want her to get the wrong idea.

“I hear you’re with Society security.”

That answered one question. “Who told you that?” he asked, his voice hard.

Her eyelids fluttered. “Sorry. Gina said.”

“You’re not from here?”

Calli laughed and tossed her long blond hair over her shoulder. “God no. I’m up from New York. Gina brought me and Payton up from the city for this event. There was also supposed to be a golf outing, but the weather is shit so that’s been canceled.”

“I see.”

She offered him a smile and captured his gaze. “Now we have nothing to do but hang out all…weekend…long.” As she said it, she let her fingers touch his blazer sleeve and then his wrist.

Yeah. No. He straightened, moving his arm away. “I’m sure Gina will find you something to keep you busy.”

“I’m sure.” She moved closer to him. “But I can think of other things that would be more fun, especially with you.”

He gave her a dead stare. “And just what do you think would be fun, Calli?”

She looked at him uncertainly. He wasn’t falling for her charms.

Her brow furrowed. “Oh, I don’t know. I’m sure we can think of something.” She brushed her fingertips on his chest.

“Are you getting paid, Calli?” He was sure now that his instinct was correct.

“What?” her brows drew together. “Of course. Like I said I was hired by Gina.”

He leaned in. “To do what exactly?”

She glanced around as if looking for a way out. “To help her keep the guests happy.”

Fuck. She was an escort. “Do you work for Gina often?”

“What is this? Twenty questions?” She took a step back and started to turn away but he grabbed her arm and held it.

“Answer my question.” His tone said he wasn’t going to put up with any shit.

She glanced over the railing and then licked her lips.

“Calli?”

“Fine,” she snarled. “I work for her all the time. Permanent like. Me and Payton and a few others. Gina tells us where to go and when.”

What the fuck was going on? “Is she always with you or does she just send you out?”

Sighing, she tossed her hair again. This time it was in annoyance. “She tells all of us where to go via text or a phone call and we go.”

“I see.” So now the Society was running girls? There was no way Gina was doing this on her own. Archer Gray had to know. It made Flynn’s stomach roll. Of all the things the Society was involved in, and a lot of it was bad shit, this was…beyond fucked up. What the hell was Gray doingsupplyinggirls to members? If the members asked, there were madams to call but running their own stable? The concept sickened him. But here they were, women on a menu. Members could probably call up and order what they wanted, no questions asked.

He let go of her arm. “Let’s get this straight right now. You’re here to work? Then go work. Do not talk to anyone but the members. Leave everyone else alone.” He made sure his voice was icy. He wasn’t dicking around. If she started hitting on Shah or, God forbid, Donovan, there would be hell to pay. Shah said the boy knew all about the Society but Flynn had his doubts. If he did, there was no way he’d have his kid anywhere near it.

She took a step back, a red flush crawling up her neck. “You don’t have to be a dick about it,” she snarled as she turned on her heel and went back down the stairs.
