Meg clenched her hand to her heart. “I cannot put into words the amount of hurt I feel right now.”

I had enough talk about cats. I needed to know what Luna, Greta, and Bear knew. “Why didn’t you tell me you were keeping an eye on Tess?”

“You didn’t ask,” Bear replied.

“You don’t think I would have wanted to know?”

“No,” Bear answered.

“Just let her go, Zag. Bear will make sure she stays safe,” Luna promised.

I glared at her. “You think you’re going to tell me that, and I’m going to listen.”

“You should,” Luna shrugged.

This was complete bullshit. I grabbed the phone off Meg’s desk and disconnected the speakerphone.

“Where are you?” I growled into the phone.

“Greta and I are about to go out,” Bear replied calmly.

“Where?” I demanded. I wasn’t putting up with this shit of everyone knowing what was going on, and I knew nothing.

Bear sighed heavily. “I can be to the clubhouse in twenty minutes.”

“I’ll be waiting.” I slammed the phone down and stalked out of the office.

“Zag!” Luna called.

I didn’t stop.

I didn’t want to hear what she had to say.

All I wanted to know was where to find Tess and no other bullshit.

Bear was going to be the person to tell me that.
