Page 14 of Losing Hope

The meal seemed to last forever, but Hope didn’t mind. She was having a great time and laughed so much that her cheeks hurt.

Faith came over and hugged her. “Graham and I are going to go up to bed. I’ll see you in the morning.”

“Good night,” Hope said. She was happy to see that her sister seemed to be as enthralled with Graham and vice versa, and she felt their closeness was similar to what Alastair and Beth had.

She finished her wine and talked to Rory and Ewen when she noticed Alastair and Blake talking in the doorway. She could tell by the look on their faces that they were pissed about something.

Her stomach knotted when Blake headed her way.

“Come here, baby. I’ve got to talk to you.” He helped her up off the chair and led her out of the room. Then he pulled her into a room that looked like an office.

“Whose is this?” she asked.

“Mine.”

“Oh.” She loved the dark wood and heavy furniture. The brown leather sofa looked deep and inviting, and she could see herself taking a nap while he worked at his desk. The view outside his window was spectacular with the flowering bushes and trees. It was a place she could see herself in for years.
