It’sbeenalongday, and not the one I envisioned lying in bed this morning. A shipment went missing, then turned into an even bigger clusterfuck of problems. Those of which have now been dealt with, but unfortunately, not without some bloodshed. Another example of this life wreaking havoc. I’m not complaining, it’s the only thing I know. It’s what I’m good at. It’s what I’ve been training for my entire life, conditioned to be exactly who I am.

But that wasn’t what kept me sane today. That came from a few short texts with Lilly.

Once to let her know where to find the money so she can order lunch, or tell Rico to grab it for her. Her reply made me smile.

Lilly: Already did, but thanks! FYI, we shouted lunch.

Then I messaged her to see if she wanted him to take her home to change. What can I say, other than it’s hard to get her off my mind.

Lilly: Nope all good. Stop texting me and concentrate!

Me: I miss you too xx

Lilly: LOL

Again, a smile swept over my face, which was in stark contrast to the meeting I was about to walk into with someone who tried to steal my shit. However, I did manage to leave her alone, work kept my hands tied and mind focused. Once that was all over and the temperature settled from the drama, my phone beeped.

Lilly: Are you alive?

Was it a sweet message? No. Did it make my heart skip a beat? Fuck yes. It spoke volumes, because I know exactly what it means. It means I’ve been on her mind like she’s been plaguing mine.

Me: We are done here. Be there by 10.

Now, the boys and I are showered, dressed and ready to blow off the pent-up steam that was built up during the day. Dave turns the car onto the street of the club and there starts a long line. Men and women are bouncing on the spot, fighting the cold and all dressed ready to party.

“What the fuck is going on?” Dave stares at the cars in front, trapped in traffic, crawling forward at a snail’s pace.

There’s still a fair distance to Sin, and by this rate who knows how long it’s going to take. It’s not ideal, to say I’m hanging to see Lilly is an understatement.

Dante winds down his window, poking his head out. “Oi! Where are you going?” he calls out to a group of girls.

They giggle, and a brunette with thigh high boots steps forward. “Going to Sin. You coming?”

“Hell yeah!” He winks and sits back in his seat. “What’s going on?”

There’s only one explanation for this, and it leaves a smile on my lips. “I left Lilly in charge.”

“Enough Said. It’s going to be a great fucking night and very well deserved.” Tommy rubs his hands together and I couldn’t agree more.

After what feels like forever, we finally reach the front of the club, stopping right in front. We all jump out and Dave throws the keys to Gavin, the head of security.

“Evening, Mr. Vitali.” He nods to me, looking more stressed than usual.

“You all good here?” It’s a larger crowd than we’ve had, and I want to make sure there are no lapses in security.

“Yeah, we’re covered. Lilly said to call in another crew.”

I nod and am not surprised she’s got it handled, it was obvious she knew what she was doing and had no problems taking over.

Once we walk in, the vibe is electric. The place is already packed, the music is pounding in the same rhythm as the lights that flash to the beat.

The clubs never been a priority. Yeah, it makes okay money, but we can flush through so much it doesn’t really matter. I’ve hired good staff and never thought twice. Now, I wonder what the fuck they have been doing, because in one day, Lilly has turned this place into a wonderland.

And it’s the right word to describe it. I hear Tommy gasp behind me and that’s when I know he’s clocked the women in lingerie.

A lot of women in lingerie.
